move.learn.eat
We came across these gorgeous videos on Vimeo a few months ago and I meant to share them but kept forgetting.
If you haven't seen them yet you need to take 3 minutes out of your day now and watch. Trust me, you won't regret it :)
MOVE from Rick Mereki on Vimeo.
LEARN from Rick Mereki on Vimeo.
EAT from Rick Mereki on Vimeo.
Soooo??? What do you think? Pretty awesome, right? And the guy isn't too hard on the eyes either... (j/k hubs, you're my one and only).
It's pretty rainy here today, hopefully you all are getting more sunshine than me :)

family fashion haul
We live about 5 minutes from a Tanger Outlet Center. That is good and bad in sooooo many ways ;) I am sure you get the picture already...
I used to work up there before the baby, while I was still in college.
Last Friday we went because it's nice to take a stroll around there with the bubs and because we had nothing better to do. Of course we didn't leave empty handed. Do we ever?
Old Navy is having a Fall Haul Sale and additional 30% off their clearance. Many items around the store were 75% off. They sure need to have a sale with the amount of product they had on the floor, and that doesn't even include the Christmas merchandise yet.
Anyways, I was glad to take some stuff off their hands ;)
The purple shirt is from J Crew. I got another top there but couldn't find an image.
I know a lot of people liked the look of the suede wedges from Old Navy but reviews were a little mixed. Some people found them to run small and look kind of cheap.
Well here is my honest opinion:
They do run small. I wear an 8 and had to go up to a 9. They are now a little loose around the ankle but that shouldn't be a problem with some thicker socks.
As for whether they look cheap or not, well, they are cheap ;) I only paid $18 for them so I didn't expect great quality to begin with. I think the gray is the best color and looks the most 'sophisticated'. You can see where the suede upper was glued to the rubber wedge but who really looks that closely at your shoes?
All in all I think they will be just fine for a season or two and they are right on trend. If you're looking for something higher quality you probably shouldn't buy these from ON.
I also really loved the breezy blouses. I wish they had come out with them a little earlier since the weather here in PA is now almost too cold to wear them without a cardigan and maybe even a jacket. Since they were such a steal though I don't mind wearing them once it warms up again.
The white t-shirt only cost me $2.69 :) You can never have too many white t-shirts.
Here is what the hubby got at J Crew and what we got the little guy at Oshkosh B'Gosh.
Have you done any extensive shopping lately? Any good deals?
Also, guess what I just realized? The little guy has been napping in his room for almost an hour and a half now :)
Ha, I'm such a mom ;)
Enjoy your day!
XOXO

fall style inspiration
I put together one of my favorite styles for the fall right now.
I got the shirt from Target for only $8 and recently got some awesome boots from Timberland that are very similar to these.
Love the leather jacket but not the price tag... a girl can dream right?
I am a sucker for fossil bags just ask the hubby ;) so this would totally be on my list.
I am planning on looking for a similar beanie on Etsy.
What do you guys think? What are your faves for the fall?

i love getting stuff in the mail :)
Look what just flew in :) I ordered these last week to hang from string in the nursery. Aren't they so cute? They all have cool little facts about the animals on the back, like did you know that Alligators have a transparent third eyelid that lets them see under water??? Pretty cool huh? What's even better is that they are big (5x7) and only cost $5.50. Shipping was unfortunately $4.99 :( but still it was so worth it. Now I just have to spray paint some clothes pins for hanging and hang them all... Things are coming together :)

home project dining room
As promised here are (finally) some pictures of lovely BESTA storage from Ikea on our dining room wall.
We love how it turned out and even though it still looks bare it has soooo much potential. We got the white high gloss doors for everything and threw in some glass to break it up a little. Our kitchen island uses the same high gloss finish so it ties in nicely. We also varied the heights to give it more visual interest. There are two drawers and everything else is just a door. As you can see it came with a lot of extra shelves which I haven't all put in yet. Gotta figure out what to put in there first. BESTA is not the cheapest solution, especially not when you go with the high gloss or glass doors but there are tons of color options and even glass doors that you can add your own fabric panels to. The hubby managed to hang all the cabinets by himself I only had to make marks for him. I put together all the drawers and hardware on the doors. Definitely no fun when you're 32 weeks preggers.

fresh pineapple and hawaiian toast :)
Today I am going to a consignment sale for baby and kids stuff with my neighbor and friend. I remember going to these kinds of sales with my mom back when I was little. She volunteered there and we were always allowed to get the first pick on items the night before the sale started. This sale is several days long and seems to be pretty huge. My neighbor just had her first child last July so we both will be looking for some good deals. My baby shower is coming up in April so I am going to have to pace myself a little ;)
So since I won't be here today I will leave you with what I made for dinner last night. It's called Hawaiian Toast and it is something my mom made a lot when me and my brothers were little. It is the equivalent to a US kid's grilled cheese. So easy and yummy, you will love it.
I had fresh pineapple on hand but you can just get a can. I love using our pineapple corer that I got from WMF in Germany before I moved here. It makes cutting up pineapple a breeze.

It removes the core and leaves you with a perfect pineapple spiral :)
Then, for the Hawaiian Toast all you need is bread that you butter lightly on both sides, some sort of lunch meat like ham, turkey or hard salami, some cheese (I like swiss) and of course pineapple slices.
Simply layer the meat and pineapple and top it off with your cheese. Then put it in the oven at around 350 degrees until the cheese has melted. Voila!

Serve it with some ketchup or any other sauce of your liking. It is so easy to make and perfect when you don't really feel like cooking a meal. If you try this let me know how you liked it or even link back your post.

nursery in progress
I lied ;) I said I was going to write a post on how I reorganized my work space but then I took a nap and did some work and then I started not feeling so well... I just went back to trying real prenatal vitamins and they don't seem to sit well with me :( I was way too sick to take them for the first few months of my pregnancy and then I just started taking Flintstones Gummies and I may just have to go back now. It's a shame, I was so looking forward to the gorgeous hair and nails...
So in the end I only managed to take some pictures of the nursery. The hubby let me nap and I woke up to a note on the pillow ;) He's the Best!
I had no clue he even left. He also put up the new curtain rod and curtains in the nursery before he left. We got the curtains from Ikea a few weeks ago on sale for $20. They are a medium blue chambray fabric and work perfectly with the grey walls. We are going to move the black desk out of there once we get the glider we want.
The light fixture is from Ikea also.
We got the bear at Pottery Barn Kids and I made the Quilt and Pillow.
We got these cubbies as a gift a few years back and I never put them up. The nursery has this awkward little corner between the closet and the door so I backed them with the same fabric I used for the pillow and put them up here. This was super easy and cheap, all I needed was a glue gun and a pair of scissors.
The crib is from Ikea. It is small which I like and it was only $130 which I like even more :)
The dresser/changing combo is from Babies R Us. It just sat there in the clearance section when we did our registry and was calling our name ;) It didn't have a price on it and it took the associate about half an hour to figure out how much it cost. We ended up getting it for $150, about 35% off. The frames are from Target, on sale for $6 each. Don't you just love getting a good deal?
More pictures to come once the nursery is done. I am still planning on painting birch trees on the darker grey wall or over the corner.
That's it for today. The hubby and I are just relaxing on the couch waiting for Grey's Anatomy to start. Well at least I am ;)
