the good stuff

I love mornings like this.

It is quiet all around the house. The puppies are still sleeping and so are the hubby and the little babe.

The day is starting off a little gray, rain is tapping on the roof and I can hear the water running down the gutters and downspouts. The roads are steaming from yesterday's heat.

I am not really much of a morning person but today I can't go back to sleep. I have to keep watching my two most precious :) They are lying right next to me in bed, one on the side and the little one in the middle all sprawled out and holding his daddy's wrist tightly.

These are the moments I have treasured most since becoming a mommy. The early morning stretches after I rescue him from the tight grip of the swaddle blanket. The many smiles I receive after he finishes nursing and his belly is full again. The closeness we share, the kind only we can experience.
Watching him lie there in just his diaper and the full glory of his chubbiness, staring at me - his mommy, as if I am the only person in the world that matters.

Then I look over at the grown man right next to him and I can't believe how lucky I am to have both of them in my life. And then I try to put my heart back in line just to keep it from bursting with all of the love I feel these days.

We are blessed, we are lucky to have a happy and healthy baby boy in our lives and a roof over our heads that protects us from this dreary day outside.

Every day I am thankful to be his mom.
Every day I am thankful to be his wife.

I am now going back to soaking it all up before the hustle of this Saturday begins... We have a wonderful wedding to attend... more love :)

a visitor

This past week this little guy stopped by our house for a visit. He thought it was a good idea to sit on the side of the driveway and the hubs found him while weed whacking. Lucky turtle :)
We kept him on the porch for half an hour, took some pictures and released him into the woods behind the house.

a guy and a babe

So here are finally the pictures I took of my guys this past week. I melt every time I look at them :)

There is just something incredibly sexy about your lover holding your little guy ;) I never thought I could love this man more than I already did but since this little bean entered our lives my heart could just explode with love for the both of them. He has always been a very loving and caring husband, making sure I am always taken care of and providing me with everything I could ever want. Now he is becoming the most incredible dad a little guy could wish for.

I know it must be hard for him to go on all of these work trips and being away from us for so long. IChat is seriously a life saver these days... Can't wait for the end of Baseball season and spending a ton of time with my two men.

Wishing you all a great weekend with your loves :)

stripes, neon and a baby

I wore this for a spontaneous little photo session with the hubs and the little man. I ordered these lovely Rampage platform wedge sandals from DSW (here) last week and I absolutely love them. They are so cute and girly but still comfortable enough for me to haul a baby around town ;)

The skirt is actually a tube dress that came from TARGET for $3.49 on clearance :) It is super stretchy and since I folded the top a few times so it would work as a skirt, it also functions well to keep that PP pouch under control. I still have 20 more pounds to go...
The neon yellow shirt is from American Eagle (here) and the gray cardigan from Old Navy (last year).

Please excuse the awful Job I did on the photoshop selection in picture number two, I really rushed it since I am the most impatient person ever. Poor babe looks like he has a gray line all around his head.

The pictures from the shoot turned out great. There are too many to put in just one post so I guess you'll just have to wait a little longer...

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!
