Awkward

• Picking monster boogers out of my little guys nose. It's funny how once you become a mom things like that don't even phase you anymore. 
• Your neighbor calling you to tell you that her son will install a camera in an apple tree right next to your house because he wants to take some pictures of deer during the night and not to be alarmed by a red flashing light... Oookay. 
• The dog eating a pacifier yesterday... Really??? She eats stuff a lot. Like vacuum cords, paper, toys, dog beds, pens, anything plastic really. Oh yeah and she drinks coffee out of our mugs. 
• Entering a one-way street parking lot at a restaurant the wrong way and then being forced to steal someone's parking spot because well, you simply couldn't go anywhere else. Whoops ;) 

Awesome

• The sun is back :) It's even warm outside. People are mowing again. It's almost like summer returned. Getting to soak up the sun and hoping she sticks around through the weekend cause we got some plans :) 
• Watching your hubby be all cute and cuddly with the little guy.  
• Breastfeeding :) We are so good at it now and we do it everywhere, haha. We are not afraid! 
• Sleep training Baby L. We started putting him to bed while he is still awake so that he can learn to soothe himself. He is doing great so far. Doesn't cry for too long and sleeps so much longer. What a relief :) 
• Finding out that wonderful friends of ours are expecting their second child next May. What a great time to have a baby ;) 
• Getting to have lunch with those friends while the little man was being the perfect baby. Yay for getting to enjoy a meal without interruptions.

Yes, I need a haircut and color. I am making an appointment for next week, promise. I'm one of those girls that started going gray at age 15!!! No kidding. I am afraid to know how gray my hair would be if I didn't color it. Color doesn't stick to those coarse suckers for more than 4-6 weeks and I've been going well over 2 months now. Last haircut was right before the little man was born and then I managed to throw some at-home color on like 10 weeks ago... 

I honestly have the worst relationship with my hair ;) It is pretty flat and dry and I don't have too much of it to begin with. A couple of weeks ago I tried to recreate a hair style off of Pinterest... Not a good idea. I ended up realizing that I simply don't have enough hair to braid the sides and pull the rest into a bun. My bun looked more like a hummingbird's nest. Bummer.

Do any of you have any experience with hair extensions? For fullness, not so much length. 

In other news, we went Antiquing on Sunday. It was cold and rainy and the hubs said I only wanted to go out because I wanted to wear my new Hunter Boots. No way... Not this girl ;) 

This rainy, cold weather is giving me more than enough opportunities to show off those boots. 

Seems like we went straight from August into November here in PA :(

last week

We went out of town and spent some time in the mountains in West Virginia. It was nice to just relax and enjoy some time away from everything. Unfortunately, the bubs got his first ever cold from his grandpa :( Poor thing is still coughing. The snot that comes out of that tiny little nose is unbelievable... ;)

My Hunter Wellies finally came and I have to say, I love them :) I can't wait to wear them this week so bring on the rain ;) 

They also didn't have any of that weird residue on them that I had heard about, just in case you were wondering.

4 months ago life changed

Happy 4 Months, Bubbie! 


We can't believe it's been 4 months already. 
4 months ago you made us the happiest people on earth and you sure made your mama work hard for it :) 
You are such a blessing and make every day so much better than the last. 
I am the happiest girl when I see you smile, which you do a lot.
When you wake up in the morning and talk our ears off for an hour I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. 
You are growing so fast and learning new things every day. 
You love to be in your bouncer and play with all the different toys on it. 
You laugh when your daddy tickles you with his beard or when the puppies come close to your face.
You have such a strong grip now and I have to make sure my hair stays out of your reach. 
You roll over like a pro and love to be upright. I hope one day you will stop drooling though ;) 
I love your bald little head and your big blue eyes.
I secretly feel good about the fact that you only want your mama to rock you to sleep or calm you down when you're upset. (Don't tell your papa, even though he probably knows...)
I love to see how happy you are when we take your clothes off for bath time. I guess soon enough you'll be a teenager running around this house in only your underwear, just like your dad an uncles used to do. 


Please slow down little man. Don't grow so fast. I already miss the skinny little newborn you.
