my lip still looks ridiculous, somehow it reminds me of a botox injection gone wrong ;) 

so i will just continue to bum around the house in my new favorite sweater and wait for it to go back to normal. which is hopefully soon.

i can't show my face today folks... i was hit with a nice little cold and following shortly were my friends the cold sores. i despise cold sores for the very obvious reasons. they are ugly. nothing makes them go away faster. no, not even abreva. they make my lips hurt especially when i smile and they send me a painful reminder of their presence: stop smiling, we're still here! it's a good thing i don't have a mirror right in front of my face all day ;)
worst of all, however, no kissing the little man :( needless to say, i'm suffering.
so, no outfit post today. instead a few instagrams from my last phone to computer dump. enjoy :)

he  demanded I show him my mean face. yeah, i don't know...

i love this ruffly cardigan, the shirt and belt. I'm not so sure about the jeans but i have some red denim that i think would look fabulous instead. sometimes outfits look better in your head.
my bag is missing one of the studs. what's up with that marc jacobs???
i got those boots for $20! a few years ago and they are super comfortable and such a classic item in my closet.

hope you're having a nice valentine's day. we choose to ignore it at this house but i'm perfectly fine with everyone else having a good time.

{she made it} jersey weave sweatshirt

i'd scratch this little diy off my to-do list...

This was the inspiration for this diy. i've had it pinned on pinterest for an eternity. so when I came across $3 sweatshirts at wal-mart the other day i felt like it was just meant to be. i resisted grabbing more than two (i am so bad when it comes to good deals) brought them home and gave them both a good wash and dry. the other one is white and i already have something in mind for it...

i had some gray and yellow jersey fabric on hand already. jersey fabric won't fray on the edges. you can also cut up an old t-shirt and use it. i folded the fabric a few times and cut 4 - 2" wide strips. they were pretty long and i went back and forth about 3-4 times with each one. i cut off the collar and the cuffs. then i marked my first row of holes with a fabric marker that washes out. make sure to cut teeny tiny holes and keep them about 1/2" apart. then i just started weaving my fabric strips through the holes. when you come to the end of each row remember to reverse the up and down weaving motion going the other way so that you're alternating the gray from the sweater and your fabric. as you go down just cut less holes or make your own pattern as you please. when you're all done turn the sweatshirt inside out, tie all the loose ends together and weave them in. you're done.

lazy saturday

so J is working today and Logan and I are having a lazy day at home. if it weren't snowing outside I'd put on this outfit, pack him in the car and run some errands... my to-do list is crazy long. but hey, a lazy day at home sounds good to me too.

The hubby said I looked very 1970's today. He also said that he liked jeans with flap pockets on me and that he's been trying to get me to wear some for years. Well, I hate to say it but I've had these for years! Guess I don't wear them enough or he just doesn't notice. Whatever that means...
